Private Entryway

Hello again my fateful followers! Welcome to another Thor's Day Post!

I was a busy weekend last for my Caretaker, Food. He finally got off his lazy butt and install my own private entryway - separate from the servants.

While its nice to be waited on and have doors opened before you, occasionally carried about and such, sometimes one cannot wait when nature calls. My Caretakers have found this out the hard way on more than one occasion.

And so, over the course of a 6 grueling hour period Saturday, Food successfully modified an outside wall and installed my personal access panel.

OMG - An outlet not tied to a wall joist!!
Two hours into the work and all Food has to show for it is hole (not even all the way through) and a big mess. Sigh. He is good, but not fast by any stretch. Love did call multiple times to ensure Food was not twitching on the floor, one hand on a hot wire and the other failing about like a beached fish. Thankfully, that was never the case. After all, without Food, what is there to eat?

Daylight to my Bagua deck of Meditation
One hour later and Food had successfully made it all the way through to the other side. He was rather proud. However I heard words that I'm not sure even a sailor would repeat!

Luckly it was a rather nice day, overcast and a little cool. But the rain held off and the wind was down to a light breeze.

I sit in protest!
Four hours into this and I am loosing patience. The instructions quote and hour or two. I know Food likes to be thorough and methodical, but this really getting old.

I decide its time to sit in protest at this agonizing wait! While dragging my doghouse around and turning it over a few times failed to gain a response from Food, sitting on its crumpled hull did at least generate promises of "I'm almost done!" and "Soon! I promise!"

Food felt like I had to be tethered away from the work. He did not appreciate my constant inspection of his tools, work and methods. Hey, its my door! I should be able to ensure the work is done correctly!

My careful post-production inspection

Finally, 6 full hours later, Food is complete with the installation and I am free to inspect!

You might be wondering while such a diminutive (yet powerful) canine as myself needs such a large door.

My Ego.

Actually, I plan on entertaining many guests, some of which are larger (but not as powerful) as I. So I wish to ensure they all feel comfortable and welcome in my humble abode.

The final touch and operational inspection
Food also built be a platform step out on the deck so that I would have an effortless time with the outside access.

Aside from a coat of paint needed inside and out, to match the corresponding decors, Food did a really fine job. I have used it multiple times already and it works very well (with its double-doors) keeping the weather outside outside.

Until our next encounter, enjoy your days and cherish each moment as it passes.

Happy Thanksgiving Thor's Day!!

Wow! Two weeks have gone by without a Thor's Day blog post!!

I am truly sorry. My Caretaker, Food, has been really busy. So much so that even my reprimanding him did not help any:

Food, post a new blog or I'll BITE YOU!!

A lot has happened since my last post. I'm up to 7.2 Kg (17 lbs) at almost 4 months! And have just one more round of immunization shots to complete - then I can play with other dogs!! Yippe!  Ahem, I mean "that will be nice"

My Caretakers set up a leather overstuffed chair just for me, but were a bit disappointed that I prefer sleeping on the top of my crate.

It's my crate, I'll sleep where I want.

I really do like my overstuffed leather chair/bed - don't get me wrong.
For some reason they think I like Zebra stripes. I dunno. I can live with it, I guess.

The bed in the crate is 4" memory foam, so it is quite comfortable. But sometimes, there is no substitute for leather and a higher vantage point.

Halloween was a blast. Lots of little kids to look at and get petted by. But I don't understand why they got all the candy and I didn't! Love and Food got me my very own Zombie Foot to chew on yum!!!

Like my Zombie eyes??

Hope you all have a very enjoyable Thanksgiving! And while you're eating your Turkey, stuffing, potatoes and pie, think of me...maybe even save some for me?

How could you not love a face like this?!?!?

Have a great Thanksgiving!!!!

Supernatural Abilities Emerging

Hello fellow earth inhabitants! Welcome to another of my Thor's Day posts!

My mastery of human steps has improved since last week. But more importantly, my supernatural abilities are starting to emerge!!

What? You've never seen a dog fly?!?
Here I am taking a test flight in my Caretakers' kitchen. Just testing stability and maneuverability before going full on. Much like Jarvis wanted to have Tony Stark do with his original Iron Man suit - and we all know how that turned out...

I, on the other hand, don't need a suit, my abilities come naturally.

I think I missed a spot over there, dang.

Here I am a few days later helping Food mow the yard. You can see I'm very attentive to detail and am actually going over the yard a second time to ensure every blade is cut evenly. A job not done well is not worth doing - I always say. Well, OK, I've never said that before, but you get the idea.

Take the dam picture! This car's not holding itself up!
My super strength is building as well. Again, Food needed my help (still can't fathom how he got along without me all these years). So, I came to his aid and held his car up while he changed the tires. Where is he? Well, someone had to take the picture!!

Many of you may be saying "I thought Thor's power came from his hammer." That's not entirely true. The hammer enhances and directs the power within. But you have to be worthy of that power to wield the hammer. My hammer is still being forged from the core of a dying star. It has too be custom made just for me - due to my diminutive (yet powerful) size.

I think I need a bigger house...

Well, I see it is getting late once again and I need my beauty sleep. So until next Thor's Day, have a wonderful week, my adoring fans!!

Always here to help

I am the Yin and the Yang
As from the previous post, I do have Yin to my Yang. For one thing I'm incredible cute and adorable. But even more so I am very helpful around the house. Frankly I don't know how my Caretakers survived without me.
Defeated! The Dragon King submits!!
First, there is the occasional invasion of the Dragon King that I must fight off. He is a fearsome opponent and much larger than myself. But I find his weakness in his horns. Once I have them firmly in my mighty jaws, I shake him violently into submission. I promise to will my Caretaker, Food, into video taping my next encounter with the Dragon King - for while he is a fierce opponent, he is not smart enough to know when he has been defeated, and always comes back for a rematch.

Then there is the Loki-Droid. After his humiliating defect in 'Avengers', Loki transferred his essence into a more powerful robot - still not more powerful than I. This week, Loki-Droid dropped in threatening the sanctitude of my humble abode. I fought him long and hard until he was finally driven away! It was a glorious fight, and Food caught some of it on video. Beware, some parts may be too gruesome for younger viewers.

I'm constantly on patrol, though I've not yet mastered steps...

There is work in the yard that needs to be handled as well. While Food does the occasional mowing, it seems to be my responsibility to handle the larger jobs. My Caretaker, Love, has requested a tree be removed from the backyard. I figured a few more weeks and I'll have it felled for her. What giant cottonwood could stand up to the jaws of the mighty Thor?!!

Rest for the weary warrior
Well, its getting past my bedtime, so have a wonderful week and we'll meet again next Thor's Day!!

P.S. The spot some of you may have noticed on my back in a small sore due to a local infection received during a bout with one of my kin. My caretakers have taken me to specialists and I am receiving excellent care and treatment. It is healing nicely. Thanks for asking.

Everybody's Got a Dark Side...

Do You Love Me? Can You Love Mine?
As with all Superheros, we have our dark sides too. Its the Yin and Yang of life. Great good must be balanced by great evil. I am no exception. I bite fingers and toes, chew on furniture, eat rocks, chew electrical cords, lick power outlets, pee in the house. And after 7pm I get really wild! All rules are thrown out the window and its open season on anyone's toes and fingers. So watch out!!
Why? Well, because I can! Nuf said.

To stay it top form and ensure my teeth are needle sharp, I chew on concrete steps. See the chunks I've already disposed of?

Witness one of my humble abodes. Note that the bars are for your protection...

On a positive side, I have taught my Caretakers to predict when I am going to sit, announce that I am doing so and also give me a treat. So my mind-meld is going well and they are actually trainable.

Power Up!
There are times too when I need to recharge. Not unlike Superman, I get much of my energy from the Earthling's yellow Sun.

Then there are times when I want to play, but understand its my Caretakers who need the exercise more than I. So I let them pull me along. They get great enjoyment out of it. I figure its the least I can do.

Sporting my Superhero cape

And finally, my last Dr's visit went flawlessly. I had gained 1.08 kg (2.4 lbs) and now tips the scales at 4.35 kg (9.6 lbs). And its all pure muscle!! No, really. Hey! No laughing!! I can HEAR YOU!!!

Thor's Day #3 - Pleased to Meet you...

Yes, you may throw flowers...
All style and fashion aside, I've matured enough to accept who I am and what I am....and I'm damn proud of it - ears and all!!

So, do you know now what breed of canine I am? I know before I looked a bit like a Pug, but it should be clear now that is just not the case. Leave your best guess below in the comments if you like. There is no prize for being right - other than the fact that you'll know you're almost as smart as me! :) :) :)

Does this make my butt look big?
It started getting cooler here this week so my Caretakers, Love and Food, decided that with my diminutive (yet powerful) size, I might need some insulative support this winter.

Get this damn thing off me!
Most of the time, I'm all good with that, but it does tend to put a cramp on my acrobatic abilities.

Once again, the term "Smelling like a Dog" came up and my Caretakers swept into immediate action. I tried to reason, tried to object, tried to bit and scratch, but to no avail. Wait until they here from my attorney...
I have been able to keep them from taking unflattering photos or videos...so far.
BTW: If they are so turned off by "Dog Smell", why didn't they buy a lizard? I mean, really....

Food finally figured out how to get the video option on his phone to work. While its not the best representation of my extensive abilities, it will do for now. Hope you appreciate my beautiful athletic form.

Thor's Day #2 - 9 weeks

Hello again everyone! Hope you had a wonderful week and welcome to another Thor's Day!

I'm sporting a new look. I think the asymmetrical style is really hot right now. What do you think?

My caretakers have made some changes that I'm not too happy about.
First: they took away all my newspapers! What do I read now? Huh? At the same time they are making me take my 'health breaks' outside - exclusively! Two totally unrelated actions. I just don't get it.

Hello Thor. We're going to give you...
A Bath!!!

Second: They gave me a BATH!! WTF!!! Something about smelling like a 'dog'. Hello?! And my nose is like 10,000 times better than their's and I think I smelled just fine. Now I smell like Oatmeal. geez...

In other news, I've also been busy helping clean up the backyard. There is no stick too large for the Mighty Thor!!

Nor is there a Pine cone too prickly for my awesome jaws of death!!!
I also found some magic mushrooms, but Food took them away before I could enjoy them. I bit his toes many times for that insubordination.

Last Saturday, my Caretakers took me for my physical. I was like NBD. Got some Meds, Heartworm stuff and more food!! I did tip the scales at 3.3 Kg (that's 7.2 lbs for those of you in the three remaining countries desperately clinging to the Imperial System - two of which are Military Dictatorships...)

And lastly, I've been refining my camouflaging skills. See how nicely I blend into this rug? I got the idea from watching Sherlock Homes with Robert Downey Jr. (aka. Iron Man!)

That's all I have at this time. Until next Thor's Day - enjoy!!!

My First Thor's Day - 8 weeks

Hello everybody!
This is my first full day in my new home so graciously donated by my caretakers, Love and Food, and already I've been able to teach them their first lesson: Don't give me so much to drink at night.
Hey, I'm a puppy, how should I know? They're my caretakers and should haven known better.
Let's just say it was a lesson well learned...
They are still learning where to actually put the papers.
While one of my caretakers, Food - I think, cowered in terror, I viciously and victoriously battled a multitude of invading green creatures falling from the skies (Food has still not got the hang of the video recorder on his phone...sigh, maybe my next battle will be record for posterity).
Today, I was also able to impart another hard-earned lesson on Food. It is best to hold my toys for me to enjoy -or- suffer the wrath of my razor-sharp canines on his toes!!! I was a bit disappointed as to the time and repetition it took to get this knowledge imparted to Food. Double-sigh,,,
All this work: defending my home, imparting critical knowledge, not to mention exercising my care takers has taken its toll. I must sleep now. So until my next Thor's Day, I bid you a fond adieu. And remember, not matter how old, your humans are trainable too...
